What seems to be quite new for the fight against climate change is fundamental for aerodynamics: the reduction of energy demand. To achieve this goal, component resistances must be reduced to a maximum in order to minimize pressure losses caused by them. Such optimization is made possible by adapting the component geometry or even by using additional flow-conducting elements.
Potential optimizations and individual solutions are our specialty, because not every task can be solved by products “off the production line”.
Brimming with valuable know-how in the field of air technology issues and challenges, we are at your disposal for topics related to industrial mechanical and plant engineering. With innovative approaches, we address demanding challenges and develop the best possible solution.
Benefit from our expertise, we will be happy to advise you and accompany you through your entire project.
We would like to advise you in your decision making. As a rule, financial issues are a weighty point when it comes to new acquisitions, conversions and the like. For this reason, we are also happy to support you in matters of profitability calculations and carry them out for you. Of course, discretion and meticulousness are at the top of our list of priorities. Depending on your specifications, we will, for example, prepare amortization calculations for the fluidic system we offer.
In doing so, we put the key figures and the result of this calculation in relation to the respective existing plant and show you the differences in economic efficiency. In most cases, a compressor station is already to be benchmarked, either in the planning stage or already realized. Direct comparisons can be made here. In addition to the acquisition of a new plant, the operating costs must always be kept in mind in the long term – especially in the area of manufacturing, these very quickly become very high due to the use of compressor air.
As a rule, the higher purchase costs for one of our systems pay for themselves after a very short time – usually less than a year, often after just a few months – due to the savings in operating costs. Government subsidies also play an important role.
We accompany you through your project and support you already in the run-up to a new acquisition, an addition or the replacement of a fluidic system. HTK-Vent measures the corresponding parameters on the respective customer projects – either in the laboratory or on site. Of course, you do not enter into any obligation, this is a service to the customer and absolutely non-binding.
These measurements are necessary preliminary work, so we get the starting point for further planning (preliminary design). Our goal is always to deliver the system that best meets the customer’s wishes and requirements. One of these customer wishes may be to improve the drying result, to clean or exchange the air or to cool parts. Of course, further testing takes place after delivery and installation of the components. As a rule, the entire system is tested on site and then accepted by the customer.
The measurements can also be carried out on plants remote from the company. Our special measuring equipment makes this possible.
Accurate fluid mechanics prediction is important to ensure that the new or existing fluidic system can be appropriately sized (e.g. with respect to face velocity). There are diametrically opposed application areas and challenges in various industries.
Depending on the task, the following points must be determined during the preliminary sizing:
Customer preferences as well as performance specifications are of course taken into account during the measurements. If a deviation is necessary, we will point it out to you. Here you can see some example plants where we could demonstrate our know-how recently:
We carry out pre-design of fans for operation in dust and gas explosion protection zones
(ATEX, explosion-proof), such as e.g:
Occupational safety is becoming more and more important, thus the demand for safety in air handling systems is also increasing. HTK-Vent is also dedicated to this aspect and outlines the implementation of occupational safety for the respective customer project without obligation.
Suitable for customer projects with air handling systems in paint booths, paint warehouses, welding shops, as well as for other metal-cutting (dusty) production facilities such as joineries, we analyze the conditions, the requirements and create tailor-made solutions. Likewise, the filtration of the conveyed media is a fundamental part of the pre-design for the respective safety zones.
As a rule of thumb, “Where air is supplied, air must also be removed”.
This is done in a regulated and controlled manner, for which an evaluation of the safety zone is necessary, if this is not known. This evaluation depends mainly on the application as well as on the ambient and conveyed medium of the equipment.
Fluids (Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD) are very complex in their behavior and states.
They can be approximated, controlled and the behavior predicted to a large extent using calculations. However, CFD analyses are necessary for complex customer projects in order to achieve a sufficiently correct design.
Without time-consuming calculation efforts, the flow behavior can be determined temporally (transiently) exclusively with the help of CFD analyses.
Furthermore, the mixing of two fluids as well as the simulation of complex fluidic and thermal mixtures can be tested very well by our specialists using CFD analyses.
The CFD analyses are created using and inputting the customer’s data and files from HTK-Vent. Improvements, for example in terms of efficiency, can also be suggested to the customer. Also the simple calculation of the fan exit velocity for the long throw into a relatively complex duct, can be calculated.
In order to clarify the results of the corresponding CFD project to the customer, easily understandable protocol reports are generated by HTK-Vent and made available to the customer.
Customer projects often require newly designed components that are drawn in 3D and output in 2D for factory drawings. However, before the components can be released and processed in 2D for manufacturing, they must be tested for resilience during the design phase. This is done using the finite element method (FEM).
It must be possible to guarantee the plastic dimensional stability with respect to the conveyed medium at a certain temperature, under vibrations or other loads. This test is possible using calculations in 2D and 3D, but the use of analysis programs is far more efficient.
In order to clarify FEM project results, HTK-Vent generates easily understandable protocols (PDF format) with meaningful illustrations and makes them available to the customer.
